Adur 2015 News
|This years Adur head race showed some encouraging results for Bexhill Rowing Club. It is the first time clubs get to race against each other prior to the season starting in May and is a good early test to see how the winter training has gone.
Division 1
The new look Mens Senior Four of Phil McCorry, Doug Holdaway, Greg Anderson, Kieran Cahill and cox Laura Quinn were rowing together for the first time and achieved a creditable 2nd place just 8 seconds behind Eastbourne. The Junior Men of Will Knapp, Adam Baker, Josh Green and Lewis Sealy were looking to have a strong start to their campaign and did so by coming home in 3rd place. The clubs first win came in the Mens Vets and they will look to improve at the next regatta. The Mens Novice crew came a respectable 4th place with Sam completing his first race. Making up the 1st division were the two Ladies Pairs crews coming home in 3rd and 6th place.
Division 2
Doug Holdaway and Kieran won the Mens Senior Pairs with Greg Anderson and Phil McCorry taking 3rd. The Ladies Senior crew of Rachel Garland, Maisie Hill, Claire Cahill and Sophia Green recorded a strong 2nd place and will look to improve as the season goes on. The Junior Four then split into pairs coming home in 3rd and 4th showing some promise. Nick McCorry came 4th in Mens Junior Sculls with Josh Green coming 2nd in Mens Junior Sculls. The Ladies Junior Four of Abbie Little, Georgina Pepper, Carlie Cooper and Laura Quinn raced a strong field of ladies in Junior Fours coming 5th with final result of the Novice Ladies being also recording a 5th.
