|Bexhill RC kick off their League title defence for the 16th consecutive time in 2016, with this season’s competition likely to be the toughest the club has faced in recent years. Early results from the two recent preseason events at Shoreham and Deal, show that Deal Rowing Club are mounting a serious challenge to the clubs long run of success. The season begins on the 8th of May at Worthing, which is less than a month away; crews are now busy stepping up the training to ensure the club has a strong start to the season. The Ladies Junior Four have shown some early potential in winning their two preseason events and will be one of the favourites to take the 2016 title.
Pictured is the clubs trophy hall from 2015, with over 50 cups on display including the Bideford Bowl for the Mens South Coast Senior Fours Championship, 2015 was one of the most successful seasons in the clubs 123 year history. In 2015 the club won 41 races, retained the Mens Senior Fours, Mens Senior Pairs and Mens Veteran 50 Fours as well as rounding off the season at the South Coast Championships at Wimbleball Lake Somerset by retaining the Bideford Bowl for the first time in the clubs history and winning the Vet 50 Open and Ladies J18 Open events
The club has signed up a number of new members over the winter and has a growing junior/beginner section. We hope to develop these members to enable them to race at the clubs annual regatta on Sunday the 22nd of May. If you are interested in joining the club to compete or just for recreational use please get in touch via the website.
In order to continue to develop and grow the club as a real community asset for Bexhill the club is desperately looking for an annual sponsor, experienced volunteer rowing coaches and donations to purchase vital pieces of new equipment. Perhaps name a boat after someone or a business, If you are interested in helping the club in anyway please do get in touch via the contact section.
