Thanks for all the rowers, friends, family and supporters of Bexhill Rowing Club who came along to the Boat Launch last Sunday. It was a fantastic turn out and a fitting tribute to Pat Murray who the boat is named after. Pat was a great supporter of the rowing club, following us to regattas and in particular to watch us at the South Coast Championships each September.
With lots of Pat’s family coming down from Liverpool, the weather was kind to us and Nick McCorry and Ashley Cahill were able to take the boat out on the water. Pat’s son said a few words; “Dad was always going on about how good the rowers are, how they win everything and how they have a mascot called Curly”! Lets hope the boat gets its maiden win at the first regatta in a few weeks time.
